Topic 2025

The topic of the conference 2025 "LIBRARIES OF HEIS: PREDICTABLE TRANSFORMATION OR TURBULENT UNCERTAINTY?"

University libraries are constantly evolving, providing new or updated library services in response to transformations in education and science, changing needs of academic communities, development and practical implementation of new technologies, including AI, updated approaches to online security, and growing attention to sustainable development and inclusion.

Libraries preserve and develop unique collections of book monuments (manuscripts, old books, rare and valuable editions), printed and electronic sectoral collections, cultural traditions and languages, promoting social cohesion and peaceful coexistence in multicultural societies.

Libraries support open access, open science, and open education for a more open and just future.

The realities of the new political landscape in the United States, coupled with the global crisis (economic crises, natural and man-made disasters, armed conflicts, Russian-Ukrainian war, etc.) have cast a shadow over the future of academia.

For library professionals, this tumultuous uncertainty means that they need to be flexible, foresighted, and persistent, while using established frameworks to adapt and innovate.

So let's go ahead and share our experience and ideas, discuss, analyse, and identify ways forward!
